HRT Group Clinic
Same affirming care, rooted in community.
Now scheduling: HRT Group Clinic - Advocacy
In the HRT Group Clinic - Advocacy clients are invited to see a provider and build a practical skill, all while in community with others on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). The clinic visit will include group discussion, an activity, and time to meet with a provider.
What to expect:
Discussion topic: Advocacy. How do clients advocate for themselves when they navigate health care? Some topics might include navigating the pharmacy, insurance, and how to talk with different providers. The discussion will be directed by the interests and needs of the participants. Clients will have the opportunity to work with each other to ask questions and source ideas.
Activity: The activity will focus on establishing grounding techniques. Clients will have the opportunity to meet with a provider to discuss and update their prescription.
When: Saturday, April 12th from 2pm - 3:30pm
Where: Chicago Women’s Health Center, 1025 W. Sunnyside Ave, Suite 201
How to sign-up: To schedule, call our front desk at (773) 935-6126. We are open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 4pm. Clients will complete a brief intake over the phone when they call to schedule.

What is a group clinic?
A group clinic (also known as a group medical visit) is a health appointment where multiple clients are seen at the same time by a healthcare provider, while also receiving education and community support.
What happens in a group clinic visit?
At CWHC, an HRT group clinic visit may include a mix of discussion on the topic of the day, a group activity, and time with a provider to discuss your medication. Discussion topics will be influenced by those who participate, but some possibilities include: navigating the pharmacy and insurance, troubleshooting common issues when taking gender-affirming hormone therapy, or learning to measure blood pressure.
Do I have to attend every session?
No. You may attend as many or as few sessions as you like.
How do I pay for the clinic if I don’t have insurance?
We will have a sliding scale for those who are using self-pay. Payment plans are available. We will never turn anyone away based on ability to pay.
Can I use my insurance?
Group clinic visits can be covered by insurance. Coverage depends on your individual plan. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Humana PPO, and United Healthcare PPO plans. To ensure that visits are covered, please contact your insurance company.
I have never been to CWHC before. Can I join?
Group medical visits are for established clients. If you have not received HRT or GAHT, gynecology, or sexual/reproductive health services from us before, please call us at 773-935-6126 to schedule an appointment to establish care with us.
