Welcome. Chicago Women’s Health Center (CWHC)is a collective that includes health care providers, counselors, outreach health educators, and doctors who work together to provide health education and affordable, respectful, and accessible gynecological and mental health care to women and trans people in the Chicago area. In 1975, a group of women healthcare providers and activists formed the health center for women in the community.

Unique Care

At CWHC, our style of providing services is unique in a number of ways:

Sliding scale fees and flexible payment plans
Longer appointments which allow time to focus on health education
Emphasis on preventive/self care including breast and cervical self-exam
Education about and referrals for alternative health care
Street-level accessible exam room for women with physical disabilities
Feminist therapy services
Affordable emergency contraceptions

Upcoming Acupuncture Educational at CWHC

Have you ever thought of trying acupuncture? Would you like to know how it can benefit your health and what it can treat? Are you curious about how it works, but feel nervous about needles? Yes? Then come to our acupuncture educational and learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture treatment. This hour and a half class will be lead by a licensed acupunturist from the Chicago Acupuncture Collective. It will also include a needling demonstration for anyone who would like to participate!

CWHC now offers massage services! Massage is a great way to maintain good health and can also provide an integration of body and mind. We all seek massage for a number of reasons such as stress reduction, pain management, or pampering. Regardless of why we seek it out there is no denying the power of bodywork.
